Cape Coral Summer Camps 2026: A Local Mom's Honest Guide

By Patty Orchard, Orchid Home Team  ·  Updated March 2026  ·  8 min read

Every spring I get texts from neighbors and parents at school asking the same thing: "Which summer camps are actually good?" We've been doing this for a few years now with our two kids, and I've learned which ones they come home excited about versus which ones they're counting the days to be done with. Here's my honest breakdown of Cape Coral's 2026 summer camp options — plus one camp outside the city program that my son has done every year and absolutely loves.

Quick Answer

What are the best summer camps in Cape Coral for 2026?

Cape Coral Parks & Recreation offers 16 summer camp programs in 2026 ranging from $50 half-day nature camps to full-day programs at $130–$150 per week. Registration opens April 6th at 5am at CapeParks.com and space fills up fast. Our family's top pick is Lake Kennedy Center Summer Camp for its field trips and central location. For outdoor kids, the Eco-Adventure Nature Camp at Rotary Park is a standout. And for baseball or softball players ages 7–12, the Redline/Backyard Grind camp running June and July is worth a serious look.

⚠️ Registration Opens April 6th at 5am

Space is extremely limited in ALL camps and they fill up quickly — some within hours of opening. Register online at CapeParks.com starting April 6th. Full payment is due at registration. Do not wait.

The Camps We Actually Recommend

Great for Outdoor Kids

Eco-Adventure Nature Camp

Ages 7–12  ·  Rotary Park Environmental Center  ·  Mon–Fri 8:30am–4pm  ·  $150/week

I've heard really good things about this one from neighbors whose kids have done it. If you have a child who lights up outside — hiking, exploring, getting dirty — this is the camp for them. Based at Rotary Park Environmental Center, the program covers nature trails, fort building, learning about local flora and fauna, and hands-on science activities. Guest speakers come in regularly to talk about wildlife and conservation.

Parents I know who have sent their kids describe it as one of the most genuinely educational camps in the city — not classroom-educational, but the kind where kids come home talking about what they found under a log or what bird they identified. It costs $150 a week, runs June through early August, and requires some additional registration forms. Drop-off is between 7:30–8:30am and pick-up is strictly between 4–5pm — build that into your schedule.

⚾ Bonus Pick — Outside the City Program

Redline Baseball & Softball Summer Camp

Ages 7–12  ·  Fort Myers (Redline Facility)  ·  Mon–Fri 9am–3pm  ·  $650/camp or $1,000 for both

This one is outside the Cape Coral Parks program, but I'd be leaving out one of the best options if I didn't mention it. My son has done this camp every year and it's become a summer staple for him. Run by Coach David (Backyard Grind) and Coach Kyle at the Redline Fort Myers facility, this is a serious baseball and softball training camp — not just kids playing catch in a field.

What my son loves most is the structure: age-appropriate weight training combined with focused skill drills. It's the kind of camp where kids actually improve, and they come back year after year because of it. There are two sessions — Camp 1 runs June 8–26 and Camp 2 runs July 6–24, both Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm. Weekly sign-ups are available, so you don't have to commit to the full three weeks if that doesn't work for your schedule.

How much do Cape Coral summer camps cost in 2026?

Which Cape Coral summer camp is best for young kids?
For ages 3–4, Camp Cuties at the William "Bill" Austen Youth Center runs all summer with themed weeks. For ages 5–8, Four Freedoms Park Camp Horizons includes free breakfast and lunch most weeks and has a good mix of arts, outdoor activities, and water days. For ages 6–11, Lake Kennedy Center Summer Camp is our top pick — field trips to Sunsplash and the movie theater are a big hit with that age group.
Are there nature camps in Cape Coral for kids who love the outdoors?
Yes — the Eco-Adventure Nature Camp at Rotary Park Environmental Center is the best option for outdoor kids ages 7–12. There are also four rotating half-day nature camps for ages 5–10 at just $50 each: Camp Crystal Lake Fishing Frenzy, Camptopia Wild Adventures (the Bigfoot camp at Gator Trails), Wildlife Guardians, and Crystal Lake Explorers. Each runs one or two weeks throughout the summer.
Is there a baseball or softball summer camp in Cape Coral?
The City of Cape Coral doesn't offer a dedicated baseball camp through Parks & Recreation, but the Redline Baseball & Softball Summer Camp run by Coach David (Backyard Grind) and Coach Kyle in Fort Myers is an excellent option for ages 7–12. Summer in Cape Coral Is Worth Planning For

One of the things I tell buyers who are considering moving here is that Cape Coral isn't just a great place to own a home — it's a great place to raise kids. The city's parks program is genuinely impressive for a city this size, and the fact that you can put your child in a quality camp for $130 a week that includes breakfast, lunch, and field trips to Sunsplash says something about what life here actually looks and feels like.

My kids have been doing these camps for years now and summer has become something they look forward to rather than dread. Between the city options and the specialized camps like Redline, there's something for every kind of kid here — nature lovers, athletes, artists, water kids. That variety is part of what makes Cape Coral such a complete community.

If you're relocating to Cape Coral and want to know what the day-to-day lifestyle really looks like — for your kids and for you — I'm happy to talk through it. I've been here since 2014 and I'll give you the real picture.
